Stone Boat 2
This print is part of a series of 4 and has been inspired by the first wave of human settlers to come to this island, most likely by boat 9,000 years ago.
It was a notion born in a time when I was involved in making a currach or traditional seafaring boat and how much or not, that technology and process may have changed.
The original was made using my own sustainably harvested and handcrafted inks from the Irish hedgerows, my own dye garden and some non botanical, but historical colours also.
They are hazel bark, weld plant (Reseda luteola), copper oxide & chimney soot.
This open edition [1/-] Fine Art print is a copy of the original Stone Boat 2.
This print has been produced using Epson Ultrachrome HDX Pigment inks on Hahnemuhle phot rag 308g paper. Both are certified to the highest museum standard.
Dimensions given include the cardboard frame, which makes a 5cm border.
