This is a print of the original from the series San Aimsir Chian-aosta (Long Long Ago). This series is driven by the Cup and Ring marks which are deeply carved stone carvings found in Ireland and further afield, dating as far back as the Late Neolithic period (about 5,000 years ago I believe) and continuing on into the middle Bronze age.
The Fall is following the composition from one of these stones which is found in a field in Kerry.
The original was made using my oak gall black ink, copper blue ink and rust water. The iron (ii) used in the oak gall causes the white gossamer effect. To me it’s as if the inks are drawing and concocting their own information as they settle onto the paper.
It is also my secret tribute to Mark E. Smith “My heart and I agree”
